The effect of the Mustakhraj of Abu Awanah in narrations in answering the criticism on chain of narrators in term of connecting the interrupted narrations in Sahih Muslim

This study deals with the effect of ‘Mustakhraj Abi ᶜAwanah’ in answering the criticsm related on chain of narratos in term ofconnecting the interrupted narrations in ‘Sahih Muslim’. In hadith study, the chain of narrators (Sanad) is an important and undeniable element along with other element, which is the matn. It is because, sanad is the chain that connects the narrators of the Hadith and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When one of the chains is problematic, the validity of the Hadith will certainly be questioned. There are criticisms from some applicants against the chain of narrators in ‘SahihMuslim’such ad-Daraqutni, Ibn Umar as-Shahid, Abu Ali al-Ghassani, Ibn al-Qattan and others. These criticisms are considered to effect the validity of ‘Sahih Muslim’ narrations by the existence of the interrupted chains of narrators. Therefore, this study focused on analysing criticisms of interrupted narrations. In addition, this study presents the effect of ‘Mustakhraj Abu ᶜAwanah’ in answering these criticisms by connecting the interrupted chain of narrators. The collected study reach that ‘Mustakraj Abi ᶜAwanah’ affects the connection of interrupted narrations in ‘Sahih Muslim’through the other authenticity chains of narrators which are assembled in his collection.
